Here it is book lovers: the shortlist that will nourish your literary loving souls! As you know I am a proud judge of the 2022 Women’s prize For Fiction and today we announced the shortlist (the winner is announced in June).

I thought I would share it here alongside official descriptions of the books so you can decide which would work for you - or which one to read first.

I am really jealous you get to read this books now because I have been immersed in them for months and I really miss the characters. Living in these worlds took me to new places with new people and I felt like I was surrounded by an eclectic gang of women whose extraordinary life experiences were thought provoking, challenging and uplifting and also funny, each of these books had moments that made me laugh out loud. I miss Tookie, Althea, Martha, Fig Tree, Marian and Benny and his mum Anabelle very much and I know you will love meeting them.
