I’ve been given a £100 book voucher in return for a favour but what does a woman who has read 72 books in the past 9 months (I’m one of the Womens prize For Fiction judges) purchase? I want funny: really, really funny book recommendations please.
Anything by Marian Keyes , Grown Ups was good. Her collection of shorts and magazine articles made me smile. Also Mariah Carey bio just for the laughs and clearly a ghost writer worked on it - lots of omissions from her life and edited down A LOT ! Happy reading
Is your book making you laugh out loud?
Any of Jenny Eclairs novels 🤣
Also What Happens Now? and anything else by Sophia Money-Coutts... and obviously Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes!
Have you read any of Tom Cox's books? - 21st Century Yokel had me in stitches.
Bill Bryson writing about British people. Eye wateringly accurate, but done with fondness
Oh My God What a Complete Aisling is I think the funniest book I've read in a long time!
Standard Deviation by Katherine Heiny, Foreskin's Lament by Shalom Auslander, anything by David Sedaris
You’ve probably already read it, but Nicholas Coleridge’s The Glossy Years? The chapter on Fashion Rocks is a special delight.
Have you read ‘The Rosie Project’? Laughed so much through the first one!
Mine: A Midlife Holiday. I can guarantee that you'll laugh.
